Vornanen took a stand against the legalization of cannabis when it was being discussed citizen initiative under the title “Cannabis to be legal, regulated and taxed”. Vornanen began by stating that a citizens’ initiative is a valuable form of influence. However, he does not support this initiative.

Vornanen listed European statistics on seeking treatment for cannabis-related problems.
“Problems caused by drugs are not solved by allowing drugs.”
Vornasen former party mates Perusfinomaks were on the same lines.
