Sydney – A themed cruise dedicated to singer Elvis ended in tragedy. A passenger fell overboard on the P&O’s Pacific Adventure ship. A frantic search lasting hours yielded no success. He could only be rescued from the sea dead. In the end that took care of it the disappearance of a young man without a trace on another cruise ship caused a stir.

The passenger on the “Pacific Adventure” fell into the water almost 20 kilometers off Sydney Harbor on Monday night. This was reported by the Australian media, citing the police. The cause is initially unclear. Numerous emergency services searched for the missing man from the air using boats and a helicopter for more than six hours. Like a speaker speaking to the Australian television station 7News in the meantime said that the “conditions were very difficult”. The search was made difficult by waves of up to five meters and winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, it said.

His body was finally discovered in the morning, the police said. An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the incident.
The cruise ship “P&O’s Pacific Adventure” was returning to Sydney after a three-day tour to the famous sand island of Moreton on the southeast coast of Queensland. The shipping company spoke of a “very stressful day for the guests and the crew”. Another cruise on the ship that was scheduled to depart in the afternoon has been postponed.
