«I pursue my dreams with work and enthusiasm»
A night full of luxury and glamorr in which since Summum We had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Luis Figoa self-confessed fan of The Macallan whiskeys with whom we talk about luxuries, projects, difficulties and the keys to achieving success at the highest level.
– The Macallan is a brand closely linked to the world of luxury, what is the greatest luxury for you?
My greatest luxury is to enjoy the pleasures of life which, in my case, are my family and friends. Being able to travel, an unforgettable meal in a unique place and, of course, a good whiskey.
-How do you like to take it?
No tricks! I like the authentic ‘on the rocks’, after a good dinner and celebrating with family and friends on a special occasion.
– Since his retirement as a soccer player he has continued to be closely involved in the world of sports, now he plays golf. How do you stay in shape these days?
I really like golf and I play whenever I can. I think there are no secrets to leading an active life: I go to the gym, I run and I try to combine the gym with alternative exercises for arms, abs, legs… oh, and one day I play paddle tennis!
– What do you miss most about going out on the field?
I always think about it because it has been my profession for 20 years. The relationship with my teammates, the training sessions, matches, the competition, the adrenaline of having to do things well. In short, everything that is related to competing.
– You are a great world star, what is the best memory of your career?
The best memories are the friends I have made for life. And of course, the titles that I was able to achieve, many unique moments that I have experienced thanks to football.
– What is a day in the life of Luis Figo like?
It depends a lot on where in the world I am. If I’m in Madrid, I have breakfast with my wife, then I usually have some meetings or train depending on the day. Sometimes I have meals and professional commitments in the afternoon. But I usually have dinner at home because I like to be quiet, since I travel frequently for work, business and for my sponsors.
– Do you also take care of your diet?
I like to eat healthy. I don’t eat fried foods, but I don’t usually deprive myself of good food.
– You also have your own clothing brand, do you like fashion?
Yes, I launched my own brand LF (Luís Figo Brand), aimed at the active contemporary man who likes to wear quality, comfortable clothing. It is a total look brand, but for me it is an industrial project, it is not a hobby. That is important to highlight.
– What other projects are you involved in?
I have projects in the food, real estate, financial, technological, minerals and fashion sectors.
«My next challenge is to preside over a football organization»
