The district court dismissed charges of human trafficking and other crimes.
Prosecutor and the majority of those involved have complained about the cultural adviser, the author Veijo Baltzarin from the acquittal district court. Any complaints had to be filed no later than Tuesday.
The Helsinki District Court acquitted Baltzar of all charges in February. The prosecutor had demanded punishment for, among other things, six aggravated and one basic form of human trafficking, extortion-like labor discrimination and rape.
According to the law, the parties were not in a position of dependence or insecurity in Baltzar and therefore did not constitute trafficking in human beings. There was insufficient evidence of allegations of sexual offenses.
Seven people were suspected of the crimes. They ranged in age from 15 to 36 years and lived with Baltzar and other stakeholders in different apartments at different times.
Six of the seven plaintiffs appealed the district court’s verdict.
