The city of Kiev, capital of Ukraine, will have a curfew between 11pm and 5am (local time) from this Saturday (25). The measure will be in force at least until July 3, according to the Ukrainian news agency “Ukrainska Pravda”. According to the local vehicle, the information was released by the head of the regional administration of the homonymous province of the capital, Oleksiy Kuleba.
“We remind you that the curfew prohibits being on the street, visiting other public places, moving around the settlements by transport or on foot”, indicated the regional authority, who admitted the existence of some exceptions, which will receive a special pass. “It is necessary for people’s safety. Our aim is to bring life back to every corner of the Kiev region as soon as possible to make the settlements suitable for the mass return of residents,” added Kuleba.
The announcement came after Russian troops launched, on Friday night and during the early hours of Saturday (local time), dozens of missiles over Ukrainian territory. According to Kiev military officials, Moscow forces fired about 20 missiles from Belarus, targeting the Zhytomyr region, and six more from the Black Sea, targeting Lviv. In addition, other regions such as Chernihiv, Jmelntysky and Mykolaiv were bombed.
Ukrainian intelligence accused the Belarusian missile launch of being “a large-scale provocation” to further involve the Minsk government in the conflict.
