Japan imposed sanctions for alleged arms supplies from North Korea to Russia
Japan has expanded its sanctions list against Russia, once again accusing Moscow of arms supplies from North Korea. This was stated in a statement issued by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thus, one individual and nine legal entities from Russia and two legal entities from Cyprus were added to the sanctions lists. The restrictions also affected the general director of the state airline “224th Flight Detachment” Vladimir Mikheychik. The company itself was also included in the sanctions lists along with the Ashuluk training ground and the command of the military transport aviation of the Russian Federation.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry once again accused Moscow of alleged arms purchases from the DPRK. At the same time, Russia has repeatedly rejected Western accusations of illegal military-technical cooperation with Pyongyang.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that Japan had taken a position unfriendly to Russia by joining the sanctions and introducing new export restrictions.
Earlier it became known that Japan was introducing a ban on the export of 164 categories of goods to Russia. In April, Tokyo banned the supply of lithium-ion batteries and pipes for gas and oil pipelines. Restrictions also affected the export of motor oils and nitrocellulose, which is a key component of modern smokeless powder.
