The global fight against cancer keep going. For many years, experts and scientists have joined forces to find a cure for this disease. The road has not been easy and, so far, not much has been done.
However, the president of Russia, Vladimir Putingave new updates on the progress that his country has made regarding the issue and noted that “they are close to creating a vaccine against cancer.”

I hope they will soon be used effectively as individual therapy methods
The president said at a forum in Moscow about future technologies: “We have been very close to the creation of the so-called cancer vaccines and immunomodulatory drugs of a new generation.”
He added: “I hope that they will soon be used effectively as methods of individual therapy.”
Putin did not make it clear what type of cancer these were for. vaccineswhat I do leave up to interpretation is that they could be available soon.

A race against time
Russia is not the only country that has been working to find a cure for cancer.

In fact, as reported by the Reuters news agency, “last year, the United Kingdom government signed an agreement with BioNTech, based in Germany, to launch clinical trials that provide “personalized cancer treatments,” with the aim of reach 10,000 patients by 2030”
In addition, the pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Merck & Co are developing an experimental cancer vaccine, which according to the aforementioned agency, “reduces by half the possibility of recurrence or death from melanoma, the deadliest skin cancer, after three years of treatment.”
