The captain of England, Harry Kaneharshly criticized this Wednesday the players who withdrew from the call for the English team that is preparing the next two matches of the League of Nations.
England plays this Thursday in Greece and three days later against Ireland at the London stadium Wembley. Nine players, several of them regular starters, who were part of the list drawn up by interim coach Lee Carsley, left the camp citing injuries: Grealish and Fodenof the Manchester City; Saka and Riceof the Arsenal; Palmer and Colwillof the Chelsea; Alexander-Arnoldof the Liverpool; the goalkeeper of the Southampton, Ramsdale; and Branthwaiteof the Everton.
Kane remembered that that didn’t happen when Gareth Southgate was the coach, “as he created an environment in which the players looked forward to England call-ups.”

At every training camp people were excited to come, they wanted to play for England and that’s the most important thing. “I think England is above everything, above your club,” declared the forward. «The matches with England are the most important that an English player can play. Gareth was excited about it and I wasn’t afraid to make decisions. if some players started to move away from that,” he added.
«It’s a shame what happened this week. Obviously, I think we are in a difficult phase of the season and maybe they have taken advantage of this a little bit. But really, to be honest, I don’t like it. “I think England comes before anything.”
England, which seeks promotion to League Ais second in its B2 group with nine points, three less than Greece, which has won the four games it has played. Only the first team in each group achieves promotion to League A and, since the Hellenes won at Wembley (1-2), the English team needs to win.
