How long does the Children’s Lottery draw last?
While the extraordinary draw for the Christmas Lottery held on December 22 can last about four and a half hours, the El Niño draw of this Monday, December 6, barely lasts half an hour.
This is because the draw is held using the multiple drum system and there is no need to wait for a specific ball to come out with the number engraved on it. Thus, the draw begins at 12 in the morning and from that moment on the winning combinations will begin to be known. At 1 p.m. all the prizes will have been awarded and you will be able to find out from abc.es if you have been one of the lucky ones.
How does the Children’s Lottery draw work?
As we have explained, it is one of the big differences compared to the December 22 draw. In the Child Lottery draw there are not two drums but five, one for each number that makes up the winning combination. It is what is known as multiple drum system.
Each of them contains its corresponding tank to house the balls, which are presented to the public numbered from 0 to 9. When all the drums are loaded with the 10 balls, the draw begins and each drum releases a ball. When the ball is drawn each number is shown to the public with a table.
Each number drawn from the drum corresponds to tens of thousands, units of thousands, hundreds, tens and units, respectively. There is also a hype that indicates the amount of the prizes.
Do the children of San Ildefonso also sing the awards?
Yeah. But unlike the December 22 draw where they must sing for hours and take over, this time they only have to sing a few numbers.
Although it may seem simple, they must also meet a series of requirements. They must be eight years old, be tall enough to be able to place the balls, and have good voice projection and vocalization.
How much does a tenth of the Lotería del Niño cost?
Each tenth of the Lotería del Niño costs 20 euros. They can be purchased at lottery administrations physically or through the website of these authorized establishments. In addition, some buy half-shares or shares to save in this regard.
How much does the Treasury take from the Children’s Lottery prize?
Taxes depend on the amount of the prize won. All the Prizes over 40,000 euros are subject to a 20% tax which is applied once that exempt amount is deducted from the total.
In this way, for a ticket awarded with the first prize The winner takes 200,000 euros. After deducting the exempt 40,000 euros, a 20% tax is applied to the remaining 160,000. Therefore, the winner would pocket 168,000 euros. As for the second prizefollowing the same rule, the lucky one would enter 68,000 euros.
In the case of the third prize, since the amount is less than 40,000 euros, it is not subject to any withholding or payment of tax. The same happens with extractions, approximations, hundreds or withdrawals.
When can the Lotería del Niño prizes be collected?
Prizes must be verified before winners can begin collecting them. However, this final list is usually ready by the afternoon of the same day, January 6.
Smaller prizes can be collected directly from the administration, while for larger prizes you must go to the bank. Some administrations may open in the afternoon and charges may be made at that time. The same happens with banks, although it must be taken into account that they have three months to collect the winning tenths.
Where are the Lotería del Niño prizes collected?
There are two possibilities: if you have won a prize less than 2,000 euros for tenth, you can go collect your money at any administration Lottery or point of sale, where you will receive it in cash or through Bizum. In the case of having won a jackpot of 2,000 euros, you must go to the banks authorized for this matter, which are BBVA and Caixabank. You can go to any of their thousands of offices, and in no case will they be able to charge you expenses, surcharges or commissions.
What happens if a lottery ticket breaks?
You have to be very careful with the tickets you buy to avoid any type of problem. However, there is a procedure if this occurs.
First of all, it must be brought to a lottery administration. There you will have to fill out documentation to confirm that we are its owners. Afterwards, State Lotteries and Betting will send the tenth to the National Mint and Stamp Factory, where it will verify its authenticity.
Where can I follow the Children’s Lottery draw?
