In the last month of April 2024, new car registrations in Italy reached 135,353 vehiclesrecording a growth of 7.5% compared to April 2023. In March the Italian car market recorded its first decline after nineteen months of growth. A substantial recovery was expected in April. However, the 7.52% increase cannot be considered significant because it occurred in April two working days more, which represent approximately the 10% of the monthly result in terms of registrations.
The market slowdown of last March therefore cannot be considered overcome. Furthermore, it should be noted that compared to the pre-crisis situation, i.e. 2019, the data for the first quarter of this year still recorded a drop of 17.7%.
As regards power supplies, the updated quota in the period January-April 2024 is: electric hybrid 38.6%, petrol 31.1%, diesel 15%, LPG 9.2%, electric 2.8%, plug-ins 3.2%, methane 0.2%.
