New regulations governing emissions from new cars in Canada have put Audi in serious trouble. The car manufacturer with the four rings was in fact forced to withdraw the new ones from the Canadian market TT RS and RS 3 due to too many emissions produced by the powerful engine five cylinders hidden under the hood: the German company notified its dealers of its decision via an internal note, following which the two “offending” models were also removed from Audi’s Canadian website.
“Due to specific changes in the new vehicle registration law in the Canadian market, it is no longer possible for Audi Canada to offer the 5-cylinder engine. – reads the Audi note reported by Carscoops – Accordingly, we are sorry to inform you that Audi Canada and its dealer network they will no longer be able to market and sell the RS 3 and TT RS models in the local market due to the inability to meet certain technical requirements ”. As for the TT RS, Audi has already announced that it has removed the model from its order guide and that it will cancel the orders already received in the coming weeks, while for the RS 3 production will continue only for the track LMS variant. To compensate for the market withdrawal of these two models, the house of the four rings has made it known that it will create one specific customer care package and will increase the production of other Audi Sport models.
