Two Alfa Romeos and a Lancia on the podium of the 42nd edition of the Mille Miglia. The winner of the historical re-enactment – which has now become a regularity race – was the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport of the 1929 team Villa Trasqua, driven by the Vesco-Salvinelli duo, after a head-to-head duel with the Lancia Lambda Casaro VII Series from 1927 of the Fontanella-Covelli crew, which won the silver medal. To the third place one more car Alfa Romeo conducted by the Aliverti-Valente duo, also with one 6C 1750 from 1929. During this edition, over 400 classic cars produced from 1927 to 1957 battled from Brescia to Rome and back, also touching Turin after 76 years, over a route of over 2,000 km.
The three pearls of the Stellantis Heritage also reached the finish line
Even the three precious cars of Stellantis’ Heritage staff managed to finish the race: the Lancia Aurelia B20GT (1951) the Alfa Romeo 1900 Sport Spider (1954) and the Alfa Romeo 1900C Super Sprint (1956). The first was driven by Miki Biasion, two-time world rally champion and the most successful Italian driver of all time in this category. The Alfa Romeo 1900 Sport Spider (1954) was driven by DTM world champion Nicola Larini and his friend Luca Ciucci, a passionate regular driver and member of a public body linked to the automotive world. Finally the Alfa Romeo 1900C Super Sprint (1956) driven by Andrea Farina and Davide Cironi. Both Alfa Romeos are usually kept at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese.
