Al Orouba is now “a point” away from officially announcing its return to the “ADNOC Professional League”, after strengthening its lead in the First Division League, by defeating its guest Gulf United 2-1, at the start of “Round 29”, which witnessed Al Dhafra defeating United 3- 1, Al-Fujairah and Masafi tied 3-3, while Gulf FC beat Al-Taawoun 1-0.
Leaders Al-Orouba came from behind against Gulf United, with a goal from Richard Penickett in the 33rd minute, to a 2-1 victory, after “substitute” Mohamed Diop equalized in the 47th minute, before Al-Hassani Tamboura scored the valuable winning goal in the 82nd minute, raising Al-Orouba’s score to 67. One point, compared to Gulf United remaining with 22 points, in 15th place.
At Shabab Al-Ahly Stadium in Al-Awir, Al-Dhafra beat its host United 3-1, with goals scored by “Al-Faris” Khalil Al-Hammadi in the 14th minute, Victor Santos in the 54th minute, and Saeed Jassim in the 66th minute, while the “substitute” Osarenjo Emadi scored United’s goal in the 61st minute. Al Dhafra raised its score to 43 points in fifth place, ahead of United, who fell to sixth on the difference in matches.
Al-Fujairah maintained its fourth place with 46 points, after drawing against its guest, Masafi, 3-3. The “Wolves” hat-trick was scored by Angel Lewis in the 37th minute, Hamdan Hamid in the 61st minute, and Cabral Barbosa in the 85th minute, while Masafi’s goals were scored by Adiba James in the 53rd minute. Radovanovic scored two goals in the 35th and 94th minutes.
The “substitute”, Abdullah Al Balushi, the Gulf FC midfielder, led his team to victory against Al-Taawoun 1-0, after scoring the only goal in the 77th minute, and Gulf FC raised its score to 29 points in 12th place, compared to 36 points for Al-Taawoun, “9th”.
The round will continue on Sunday with matches between Dibba and Al Arabi, Al Dhaid and Al Hamriyah, and City and Al Jazeera Al Hamra.
