The known leaker Midoriincreasingly on the crest of the wave, has recently revealed what could be the new game in development at Monolith Softteam author of Xenoblade Chronicles, which would be identified with the code name “Legacy”.
There is no information on what the game is, so we don’t know at the moment if it could be another chapter in the famous series that brought the team to international fame, but it could also be something completely newconsidering the previous entries.
Whereas a new one Nintendo Direct it is expected for next month, in June 2024, it is not excluded that information on this project could emerge on this occasion, so it would not be long before we know something more about it.
Another Xenoblade or something new?
For the moment, however, we practically only have Midori’s words on the matter, as you can see in the post published on X and reported below.
“I was told a few months ago that Monolith Soft was working on a project codenamed Legacy,” we read on X, “But I have no further information.”
After Xenoblade Chronicles 3, it is possible that Monolith also intends to explore different things, also giving its main series time to recharge for further future chapters and also allowing it to experiment on different stories, settings and perhaps genres.
In recent months, it had emerged that the team was hiring for a new game that appears to be an action game, which seems to be a departure from Xenoblade tradition. A few years ago, the team had talked about the desire to work on a smaller project, perhaps to be carried out in parallel with the heavier commitments, so there are several possibilities at this point.
