Final showdown in search of favorable confirmations for 1 AIM Villorba Corse engaged in the weekend in Portugal for the sixth and final round of the European Le Mans Series 2021, the international endurance championship promoted by ACO Le Mans.
The appointment for the team headed by Raimondo Amadio is on the 4,684 kilometers of the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, where the crew composed of the Treviso driver Alessandro Bressan, the young Roman driver Damiano Fioravanti and the Greek Andreas Laskaratos will take to the track on board of the Ligier-Nissan number 18 of the LMP3 class.
In light of the stages in July in Monza and in September in Spa-Francorchamps, where the team took home points valid for the classification, respectively hitting an eighth and a sixth place in comeback after a race also led in the lead, riders and team they will face the curves and ups and downs of the Portuguese track technician with maximum concentration and commitment to confirm the growth trend in a race that will see 17 LMP3 class prototypes line up at the start out of a total of 41 cars entered.
Team principal Amadio declared on the eve: “Portimao is a very demanding circuit and on which two of our drivers are making their debut. At Spa in the last round we showed some very good things and with a good crescendo. We are confident for the race because we are aware that ours is still a competitive package. We will try to finish this season in style so that we can immediately find ourselves energized and concentrated in view of 2022 ”.
Bressan adds: “After the good performance at Spa, morale is right to end the ELMS season well! Portimao for me is another new challenge as it is a super demanding track where experience counts a lot. I will use every second of practice to prepare for the race and finish with a good result ”.
