As anticipated by Motorsport.com twenty days ago, Sébastien Ogier will have the opportunity to try the Toyota Hypercar in the collective tests that the FIA World Endurance Championship organizes in Bahrain in November, after the last round of the 2021 season.
The 7-time WRC World Champion has already been to Cologne at the European headquarters of the Japanese manufacturer to prepare the seat of the GR010 Hybrid, also testing it on the simulator to get to know the Sakhir track.

“I am very happy to be able to drive the GR010 Hypercar for the first time on the track in the rookie tests in Bahrain – commented the Frenchman – The simulator tests went well and it was nice to start working with the team to discover this novelty”.
Ogier had the opportunity to become familiar with the ‘old’ TS050 Hybrid LMP1 last year, so this too is a new challenge for the transalpine.
“The Hypercar is very different from the TS050 I tested in the simulator in 2020. Everyone knows that I have the dream of competing in endurance in the future and the Bahrain test will be important to understand my level.”
“It is a very demanding challenge for me and I am working hard to be ready when I am in Sakhir, I can’t wait to get started!”
Together with Ogier there will be Charles Milesi, who was awarded with the test in Toyota by the WEC for the excellent performances obtained in LMP2. He too has already made the seat and knowledge of the vehicle on the simulator.
