Deputy Khamzaev proposed testing artists for alcohol before performances
State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev proposed testing artists for alcohol and drugs before performances. He expressed this opinion in a conversation with RIA News.
“We need to prohibit pop stars, singers, and showmen from going on stage in public while intoxicated. A concert with more than 500 people requires mandatory testing for alcohol or drugs,” Khamzaev said.
He also proposed toughening the punishment for appearing on stage while intoxicated. This includes banning performances.
On July 20, singer Glukoza (real name Natalia Chistyakova-Ionova) performed in Krasnoyarsk on Metallurgist’s Day. On the singer’s Instagram account (a social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, which is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) (a social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, which is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) users were outraged by the singer’s behavior during the performance. In their opinion, Glukoza was in a state of alcohol or drug intoxication and because of this she behaved strangely.
