Nürburg – According to the current investigation, 22 people were injured in the explosion at the Nürburgring. One person suffered severe injuries and three others were seriously injured, the Koblenz police said. 19 people suffered minor injuries, including acoustic trauma. “The cause of the accident is likely to be the explosion of a pressure bottle behind a pit in the paddock area, subject to further investigation results,” it said.
The six-hour ADAC Ruhr Cup race is scheduled to take place on Saturday as planned. The organizer has given teams and drivers the option of taking part in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) race.
