The flight path drawn on the map of the Flightradar24 service shows that the plane flew from Helsinki-Vantaa in a straight line towards the destination and turned its nose in the other direction at the last moment. It made three more laps over Estonia before heading back north.
The plane waited for a moment for the weather to improve, says Finnair’s communications. When that didn’t happen, the plane returned to Helsinki-Vantaa.
Flight was cancelled. According to the airline, replacement options are being sought for passengers and customers will be informed about them directly.
