Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a speech during his attendance yesterday in Moscow at the military parade marking the 79th anniversary of victory in World War II 1941-1945, affirmed that his country will do its utmost to prevent the outbreak of a global conflict.
In front of more than 9,000 soldiers, the Russian President stressed Russia’s ability to defend itself. “We do not allow anyone to threaten us,” he said, praising the Russian soldiers currently fighting in Ukraine.
The parade was held in Red Square, in the presence of a number of presidents, including the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Cuba, Laos and the Republic of Guinea Bissau, in addition to a large number of Russian figures and officials, politicians and diplomats from all over the world, and war veterans.
Thousands of military personnel and dozens of military vehicles and aircraft of various types participated in the parade, including strategic bombers and missile and bomb carriers, in addition to women’s military formations representing various types of women’s participation in supporting the Russian army and armed forces in the fields of medicine, engineering, translation, technical sciences, and others. Russia celebrates this occasion on May 9 of each year, and it is a celebration that is highly respected by Russians and a large number of countries around the world.
Columns of Russian military equipment participated in the parade, although it seemed noticeably less noisy than in previous years, at a time when Moscow is mobilizing its resources for the front in Ukraine.
