The Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) has already published the project to stop flooding in the Rambla de la Pescadería, in Los Alcázares. The works will consist of an urban channeling, some 1,250 meters long, along Avenida Muñoz Zambudio.
The objective of the works is to reduce flooding in the urban area of Los Alcázares. To do this, “a network of infrastructures will reduce the risk of floods, improve the management of runoff that flows through the boulevard of Pescadería, as well as reduce the load of solids and contamination by runoff from the urban fabric that reaches the Mar Menor in episodes of heavy rains”, explains the basin organization.
«This performance has a double function. In addition to the transport of water in flood episodes, it also intends to have a component of social enjoyment since it will allow the management of the flow evacuated by the flood park that will be developed in the second phase and that complements this first part of the works “. ensures the CHS.
The area is considered a Potentially Significant Flood Risk Area (ARPSI), with the actions indicated in the program of measures of the Flood Risk Management Plan (PGRI) of the Segura Hydrographic Demarcation. The base budget for bidding for the works will amount to €13,927,156.92 (VAT included) and will have an estimated execution period of 24 months. They will be financed from the Ecological Restoration and Resilience Fund and are included within the Framework of Priority Actions to recover the Mar Menor (MAPMM). Those interested can consult the project information in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
