You know the Aston Martin DB6 as the successor to the famous Bond car, the DB5. When the DB6 was new, the 4.0-liter straight-six produced a respectable 286 horsepower. The electric Aston Martin DB6 you see above, developed by Lunaz, potentially produces almost 100 more horsepower. Lunaz installs an electric motor that can deliver a maximum of 380 hp.
The American owner of the DB6 loves the silhouette of the car, but was not so happy with the “low fuel efficiency and high emissions” of old petrol cars. So she took the Aston to Lunaz for an electro transformation. As with all of the company’s projects, the DB6 is completely stripped down and finally reassembled ‘to competition standard’.
Specifications of the electric Aston Martin DB6
The motor in question is the ‘patented modular electric motor’ that the brand builds itself. In addition, Lunaz offers a battery of 80 kWh or 120 kWh. The range is between 290 kilometers and 400 kilometers. As mentioned, the powertrain is good for a maximum of 380 hp and 700 Nm – whether these figures also apply to this electric Aston Martin DB6 is not known. But if we were the owner, we would say: go for it.
In line with the stronger drivetrain, the brakes, suspension and steering have been upgraded. Inside, the DB6 gets modern infotainment, air conditioning, navigation and even WiFi. The floor mats are recycled and the leather comes from cacti. The interior is finished in a beautiful dark green shade, while the exterior combines black and green.
Apparently Lunaz’s electric Aston Martin DB6 is well received in the United States. 30 percent of available DB6 slots are secured by residents of the Miami area. “By bringing electric power to this beautiful example, we are breathing new life into one of the world’s most sought-after and historically significant cars,” said Lunaz boss David Lorenz.
