When talking about morality, it is common to make the mistake of thinking that it is synonymous with religion, this is not accurate. However, although there is a relationship, not necessarily total congruence.
But regardless of our religious beliefs, moral disconnections, understanding them as “the lack of remorse for the damage done, or coldness and indifference to the damage and suffering caused by others” which means that it is not only immoral to infringe a damage, but even, be indifferent when it is caused.
Both situations are a degradation that shows an impoverishment of moral quality.
The notable generalization of this undesirable behavior in no way justifies us, since it is a disconnection from our moral principles and universal values.
I don’t want to sound puritanical, but I do want to make a defense of the social principles that allow us to live in harmony.
We cannot continue justifying ourselves in the shadow of ideologies, to favor discrimination and confrontations.
Mexico is multicultural, multiparty, and therefore multiideological, which generates the cultural richness that characterizes our nation, but we suffer from tolerance and acceptance of that reality.
Increasing our level of tolerance and accepting the inclusion of each and every Mexican without distinction of any kind is getting closer to building a DIGNIFIED AND UNITED MEXICO.
Hopefully, and in this recently started 2023, it is included in our purposes, to open our minds to new ideas, to different ideas, ideas with which we might not agree, but that can feed our intellect and above all strengthen our level of tolerance.
It’s time, it’s the year 2023
For a dignified and united Mexico, let’s make a pact.
Thanks.
