As part of the 2023 World Premiere series, Ducati just unveiled their latest 2023 model: the Multistrada V4 Rally.
The word says it all: this is an adventurous version of the Multistrada V4, but the Rally turns out to be more than a big 30 liter tank and a pair of wire wheels. Ducati indicates that the focus was on more comfort for rider and passenger, a larger range and more off-road-oriented capabilities.
The block thus remained largely undisturbed. We assume that you will get up the average mountain with 170 hp, even with a passenger. The Rally does get a new Off-road driving mode that squeezes the power to 114 hp, while the more direct throttle response should provide better dosage on the unpaved. The adjustment of the traction control, ABS, suspension, etc. are also tuned in Off-road mode to err, off-road.
However, there are major changes in terms of comfort. For example, the semi-active springs get a suspension travel of 200 mm for that extra deep pit, while the new wire wheels can also take a beating. In addition, the engine protection is extra sturdy and the thicker footrests have removable rubbers. To compensate for the longer suspension travel, lowered saddles and a spring lowering kit are available as an option… but then you might miss the Rally goal.
The windshield became larger, 40 mm higher and 20 mm wider to be exact. The passenger benefits from a slightly longer subframe for more room to sit comfortably, while the duo footpegs have extra thick rubbers to minimize vibrations.
The Multistrada V4 Rally is standard equipped with a centerstand, and with a so-called Minimum Preload Setting that lowers the engine when you drive slowly or stop. In addition, there is also a new Easy Lift function that lowers the Multi all the way into its springs when stationary, making it easier to lift it from the side upright. In addition, of course, the already very high-quality electronics package of the Multistrada V4 S is present: adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, 6.5 “TFT, cornering ABS, cornering lighting, wheelie control, DTC …
The Rally is available in three versions: the ‘standard’ Adventure Radar (adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection), the Adventure Travel & Radar (everything from the Radar plus aluminum cases, heated grips and saddles) and Full Adventure – which comes on top of the previous option packages. also gets an Akrapovic exhaust and carbon front fender. Prices are still a bit of a wait.
