The Florida Panthers traded Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar to the Calgary Flames, who in turn sent Matthew Tkachuk to Florida.
NHL clubs Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames announced a big trade early on Saturday Finnish time.
Panthers star forward Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar will move to the Flames in the exchange, who in turn traded their top forward to the Panthers Matthew Tkachuk.
The Panthers also gave in the trade by Cole Schwindt as well as a conditional first-round booking turn for the 2025 booking event. The Flames, on the other hand, gave a conditional fourth-round draft pick to the same year’s draft.
Tkachuk joins the Panthers’ attack as the team’s Finnish captain Alexander Barkov as a result.
Finnish attackers also play in the Panthers Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen. On the other hand, a Finnish defender plays in the Flames Juuso Välimäki.
Tkachuk scored 42+62=104 in 82 regular season games last season, while Huberdeau was even more effective, as he scored 30+85=115 in 80 regular season games.
Weegar, on the other hand, loaded the powers 8+36=44.
“Matthew is a tough, physical opponent with incredibly unique skills. He is one of the best forwards and one of the best dynamic young players in the NHL. We are excited to have such talent on our roster,” Panthers athletic director Bill Zito commented on Tkachuk’s move in the club’s announcement.
