The action in which Juan Carlos Osorio, coach of América de Cali, stepped on the youthful Juan David Mosquera, of Independiente Medellín, during the second leg of the first phase of the Copa Sudamericana, has generated the rejection of much of the world of football.
The event occurred during the game that América won 2-1, but in which Medellín qualified for the group stage of the tournament in shots from the penalty spot.

One of those who came out to collect the stomp on Osorio was the captain of Medellín, Andrés Felipe Cadavid. In a live broadcast on Instagram made by his partner Felipe Pardo, Cadavid criticized Osorio, without naming him.

“And why doesn’t he step on me? Why does he step on Cachi and not on me?” Cadavid said in the video.
But it did not stay there. The DIM captain uploaded two stories on his Instagram account. In one he shares the video of Osorio’s stomping on Mosquera, with the phrase “It can’t happen”, and then a photo with his companions and with the phrase “And why doesn’t he step on me” (sic).
Cadavid missed a penalty in the 90 minutes: goalkeeper Joel Graterol saved it. But then, in the tiebreaker, he changed the charge and put it in.
“I have always prepared myself to take penalties, I think I hit him hard, the goalkeeper threw himself where the ball was going and you have to be very crazy to make the decision to start the penalty shootout, everything went through my head, my family, my team, had a second chance and thank God I was able to score the goal”, remarked Cadavid.

In addition, “we had prepared ourselves for penalties, they are decisive moments where we play many things, prestige, money, happiness for our fans and our families. We had confidence in our goalkeeper (Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo), we know that he is for the Colombian National Team, he has a high level, he is one of the best in the Colombian League and he is proving it. It crossed my mind that he had another opportunity to score a penalty, there is no one else next to me and I went ahead, ”he explained.
