Witchfire the new creature of the fathers of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Painkiller.
The Astronauts, the small independent studio that made a name for itself with The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, has been working on the new game for years Witchfire. After an impressive trailer during 2017’s The Game Awards, little new information has surfaced. At least, so far, in a big update on the official website we have learned a lot more about the game.
The intention is that the early access version of Witchfire will launch on PC in the last quarter of this year. This was chosen thanks to the game’s roguelite approach, so that everything can be better balanced before release.
Adrian Chmielarz, one of the studio’s designers, says the team didn’t communicate much with the players, but believes it is preferable to focus on development. However, the studio will try to continue to inform fans about the progress of their project once every quarter, because the enthusiasm still allows them some visibility, and therefore to have contacts with recognized people such as 3D artists, composers and so on.

- There will be no NFTs or links to the Metaverse
