According to the department, the American authorities will freely let into the United States only those who have been vaccinated with drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the US Department of Health and Human Services or approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
To date, WHO has recommended vaccines from the American companies Moderna, Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson, the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, the Indian drug Covishield, as well as the vaccines of the Chinese drugs from Sinovac Biotech and Sinopharm for emergency use. The first three are FDA approved. Thus, travelers who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with Russian drugs are not included in this list.

Earlier, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said that Russia and the United States discussed the prospects for mutual recognition of certificates of vaccination against COVID-19, but did not agree on specific steps. However, according to Murashko, the American side is ready to return to dialogue after assessing Russia’s position. He separately specified that during the negotiations the issue of recognizing not vaccines, but certificates was raised.
On June 28, Russia officially resumed flights with the United States – airlines began operating flights from Moscow to New York and Washington. The corresponding decision was made by the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus.
