The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday issued a warning to law enforcement, first responders and private sector partners about possible cases of “extremist” violence following the Supreme Court ruling. which overturned the federal jurisprudence on abortion in the country and returned to the states the freedom to legislate on the subject.
According to a memo obtained by CNN and issued by the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis, federal and state officials, including judges, “are likely to be at increased risk of violence in response to the decision.”
The document also warns of potential risks for pro-life organizations, such as health institutions focused on family advocacy and churches.
Earlier, the DHS had already released a bulletin from the National System of Communication on Terrorism, warning of potential violence due to the Supreme Court’s decision on abortion.
