According to the release, Austin's recovery is going well, and he will start work on the same day, Tuesday local time. Austin will initially work from home, but will return to the Pentagon later this week.
Austin was hospitalized again on Sunday. 70-year-old Austin has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He went to the hospital to be checked out because of symptoms suggesting a bladder problem.
According to the Department of Defense, Austin's cancer prognosis is good.
