The franchise of Spyro The Dragon has not been going through the best streak, given that the last we saw of it was the collection launched for PS4, Xbox One. Nintendo Switch and PC, this so that later they would not have the initiative to launch a completely new game. Time has passed since that 2018 and it seems that things are hopeful, because now with the separation of Toys for Bob of Activisionit is possible that they will bring back to life this dragon that became an icon of the 90s.
As mentioned by a Youtuber known for creating knowledge of both this saga and Crash Bandicootit is very possible that by this time there is already a game of the purple character on the way, this in collaboration with Microsoft, well remember that now the characters belong to the company. He has stated this in a video where he says that there are no rumors, leaks, speculation or anything similar, ensuring that it is a game that is already being actively worked on.
Here what he said:
No theorycrafting, no evidence-based assumptions, no conspiracies, not even a hint of heavy-handedness, Spyro 4 is in development, period.
The user explained that while he was at the event PAX East heard rumors about the game. She spoke to people on the show floor, from creators to developers to journalists, who had also heard hints of this. Then, on March 23, Windows Central made a post about Toys for Bob reaching an agreement with Microsoftwhich led to the Canadian Guy Hey to look more to their sources about what they had heard about the project. Thus, the definitive report that this is a reality would have reached him shortly after.
Here are more of his comments:
As of March 2024, Spyro 4 is currently in development. It is run by Toys for Bob, and development began around January 2024. Because Toys for Bob has become independent, they are now free to work directly with Microsoft on projects without the bureaucracy of Activision and without the risk of being transferred to other, larger Activision projects at the expense of their own.
For now neither Microsoft neither Toys For Bob have spoken out on the subject.

Editor's note: It would be super nice if they did it with the style they gave to Crash Bandicoot and the makeover was a little different but at the same time familiar. Also do not make abrupt modifications to characters, since many followers of the marsupial did not like that.
