Pentagon General Brown: the risk of escalation in Ukraine is not as high as before
Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Brown saw a reduction in the threat of escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. His words lead TASS.
“I do feel that the risk of escalation is not as high as it may have been at the beginning of the process,” the Pentagon general noted at a meeting with the Defense Writers Group.
Brown connected this with the prospect of transferring ATACMS long-range tactical ballistic missiles to Kyiv.
According to the general, he does not know whether Russia will be able to organize a major offensive in Ukraine, since over the past year it has spent more resources during a special military operation (SVO).
Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky allowed the country to lose the conflict without US help due to a lack of artillery. He noted that the Russian military is taking advantage of the delay in providing 100 percent American assistance; the armed forces of the republic (AFU) have practically no ammunition left. The politician did not rule out that the situation on the front line could worsen for Kyiv as early as May-June.
