XDefiant has just received a new update that fixes various problems in the free-to-play shooter produced by Ubisoft and prevents PS5 users from using a strange trick based on the PlayStation Activities feature.
What did it consist of? Apparently owners of the Sony console could exploit the activities to “sneaking into places they shouldn’t have gone“, we read in the list of changes provided by the French company, which addressed the issue with a pinch of humor.
The patch in question, called Y1S0.2 in compliance with the new standards adopted by Ubisoft for identifying updates, it addresses various issues related to the interface, stability and security of the game.
What’s new in the update
Going into the specifics of the new features of the update, we find new rules related to crossplay regarding party organization and matchmaking, the resolution of an issue regarding the display of player names and a crash caused by opening and closing party invitations.
On the performance side, there has been an intervention on the rendering of the terrain textures, which were missing in some cases when joining a game, as well as matchmaking improvements based on input selection, as well as a series of security interventions.
Interventions undoubtedly welcome with respect to an experience that we judged it positively in the XDefiant review, although at the moment there are some rough edges regarding the balance of skills and equipment.
Speaking instead of the future of this free-to-play shooter, it seems that Ubisoft is already planning further cross-overs with some of its most famous series, such as Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and Far Cry.
