Saber Interactive, here as publisher, and the Italian development studio Stormind Games have published a new development video diary for A Quiet Place: The Road Aheaddedicated to the stealth system and all the related systems, that is, how the main character will be able to hide from creatures and how noise will be managed. We are talking about one of the main game systems, in short, therefore definitely important to know and master.
Be silent
Manuel Moavero, the lead game designer of Stormind Games, illustrates this by explaining to us how the player will have to move as silently as possibleusing all the tools at his disposal to his advantage. It will be possible to hide in bushes or behind objects, even in cardboard boxes (Metal Gear Solid teaches).
We will have a flashlight available, to see and avoid anything that can create noise, and a sound level meter, which will measure the sounds we are emittingcomparing them with the ambient ones. The louder the ambient sounds, the more noise we can make (always remaining below the threshold of others).
The video also explains other systems, such as using sand to create silent paths, or bottles to create distractions. The important thing is not to make noise if you don’t want to be immediately attacked by monsters.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single player horror game inspired by the famous film series by Paramount Pictures, coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on October 17, 2024. The game is currently already available for pre-order at a price of 29.99 euros. The previous development diary video talked about the sound side.
