It carries a load of 25 tons of food, medicine and warm clothing
The first truck with humanitarian aid bound for Ukraine left Lorca on Thursday. The trailer will arrive in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, on the border with Poland, and is loaded with 25 tons of food, medicine, cleaning products, warm clothes and blankets donated by the civil society of Lorca and neighboring towns in the last week and with eight bulletproof vests donated by the Lorca Local Police for the protection of Ukrainian citizens.
Dozens of volunteers have worked piecework in recent days in an industrial warehouse in the district of Torrecilla, classifying and packaging the essential products donated by citizens and at the moment there is enough cargo to fill five large-capacity trucks, said the councilor of NGO, María Dolores Chumillas. The main problem is finding transportation and being able to cross the border with all the guarantees. This first truck has been chartered by an association of Ukrainians from Molina de Segura.
