Actor Justin Long returns in an advert, this time for Qualcomm, on the PC side: from “Hi, I’m a Mac”, it’s already the second time he’s been on the Windows side.
A years-long feud seems ready to be rekindled between Mac and PC: the two historical actors, Justin Long and John Hodgman, who in 2006 had gained attention with Apple commercials where they played a Mac and a PC respectivelyand where in the various sketches the limitations of a Personal Computer compared to a Mac were highlighted.
A feud made up of actors
The matter seemed to have ended with those commercials, more than 60 (which you can see below in Italian), but a few years ago everything was reopened. In fact, in 2020, Apple hired John Hodgman again to play a PC again: in the commercial reacts to the announcement of the new Macs with the M1using the same ironic and comic tone that characterized the previous videos, but this time without Justin Long as a counterpart.
This time, however, the response made itself felt, because Intel hired Justin Long, about 1 year later, for a slightly different commercial. It is in fact about 4 advertisements that see the actor playing himself this timeready to see the comparison between a Mac and a PC with Intel in various aspects including gaming and form factor.
Justin Long Go PC, again
Although that battle ended in that way, a new player seems to be ready to reopen it, more or less: it is Qualcomm, which during the Computex 2024 Keynote, published a new commercial at the end of the various announcements, again with Justin Long who after defecting Apple for Intel, is now doing it again.
This time the video has a further different setting, a kitchen, and sees the actor standing with his MacBook while receiving many annoying notifications, including apps not optimized for Mac, email, some news feeds, and more. At a certain point, search for the phrase on a search engine “where can I find a PC with a Snapdragon”then looking at the camera stating that Things change.
