The Court of Accounts opens proceedings against Valencia Fair and the Generalitat payable salaries and undue diets

The Court of Accounts has opened proceedings to the Generalitat Valenciana and the public company Societat Valenciana Fira València, SA for alleged accounting irregularities. Specifically, the supervisory body investigates the payment of the salaries of six executives who would have charged more than the law marks, as well as diets, accessories and fertilizer of extras and mileage of the entire workforce, as eldiario.es of legal and institutional sources could have known. The Generalitat Accounts Syndicate and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Court of Auditors have favorably reported this complaint and, at the moment, it is at the expense of analyzing the allegations presented last week by Fira Valencia, chaired by the Minister of Industry, Marian Cano, and directed since August 2023 by Jorge Fombellida.

The irregularities come from the conversion of Feria Valencia in a public entity during the PSPV and Compromís government, specifically on May 6, 2023. That month, Carlos Mazón would win the elections and form government with Vox. After becoming a regional company and turning all its workers into public employees, Feria Valencia continued to pay the same salaries, six of which far exceed the maximum that a type of this type can pay that would be about 65,000 euros. The Court of Accounts considers the salaries of the entity are void full and studies forcing the entity to return them. These undue wages would be those equivalent to 2023 and 2024, although currently irregularity would continue to be produced.

Sources of Feria Valencia explains that they are at the expense of the response of the Court of Accounts to their allegations and explain that payments of more to seven managers vary between 100 and 2,000 euros. “They are minor administrative issues,” they say. In their allegations presented to the Court, from Feria Valencia explain that when the workers of the former company to the public company were subrogated, all working conditions were subrogated.

Just in its 2023 audit the Comptes Sindicatura, the equivalent of the Court of Accounts in the Valencian Community, already put these remuneration in Solfa. “Personnel expenses amount to 4,549,916 euros, 16% of the total expenses of the 2023. Fira València has requested, but has not obtained, the favorable reports of the competent department València are void full, ”said the Comptes union in its latest report on the public company made public on December 10. And he adds: “We do not know the administrative, accounting and fiscal effects that this legal situation may have on the personnel expenses accounted for in the 2023 exercise.”

And these accounting repercussions are what the Court of Accounts now wants to settle. The High Supervisory Court extends the complaint to the diets and compensation of managers and employees. In that sense, from Feria Valencia they explain that the relationship of jobs is being closed and that will end up solving the problem.

The Comptes Sindicatura also denounced that the compensation received by the workers for diets and transport expenses “exceed the amounts of Decree 24/1997, of February 11, of the Valencian Government, on compensation due to service and bonuses for extraordinary services.” “106 workers of the 118 in staff have received various remuneration supplements that are not collected in the collective agreement, and there is also no documentation that proves the agreement between company and worker for the collection of the audit report of the annual accounts of the Valencian Societat Fira València, SA Exercise 2023 10 said accessories. In exercise 2023, these remuneration accessories have promoted to 361,057 euros, ”he says in his report incorporated into the complaint of the Court of Accounts.
