The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Catalonia registered an interannual growth of 3.8% in the third quarter, four tenths above the Spanish economy as a wholeaccording to the advanced estimate released this Wednesday by the Institute of Statistics of Catalonia (Idescat).
In quarterly terms, the evolution of the Catalan economy is 0.9%, compared to 0.8% for the Spanish economy, indicates Idescat, which attributes the growth to a positive evolution of all sectors, with a outstanding weight of services (4.4%, compared to 3.4% in the second quarter).
Hospitality and catering, computer services, legal services and transportation services are among the areas with the greatest momentum in this sector.
The industry shows growth of 4.3% between July and September, below the 5.6% in the previous quarter; while construction advanced 2.9%, three tenths less.
Agriculture continues recovery which began this year and experienced an increase of 14.4%, above the 10.8% recorded in the previous quarter.
