The UAE has spared no effort in standing by the brotherly Palestinian people and providing all forms of humanitarian support, as the UAE continues to provide relief aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip in a sustainable manner, within the framework of “Operation Gallant Knight 3” ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The President, may God protect him, on the fifth of last November.
The state continues its efforts, through all available means – land, air and sea – to provide urgent humanitarian aid and food to the Gaza Strip. It is also keen to cooperate with all international partners to provide relief to civilians in the Gaza Strip who are facing tragic humanitarian conditions.
The total number of UAE aid provided to the brotherly Palestinian people, according to the latest statistics, amounted to 22,627 tons, as 224 cargo planes were sent, and the total number of tons for the “Birds of Good” airdrop operation reached 3,344 tons, in partnership with Jordan, and the total number of trucks that entered Gaza 803, in addition to 3 cargo ships, and the total number of land transport trucks from Cairo to Al-Arish reached 440 trucks.
The UAE took the initiative to launch the sea corridor from Cyprus to the areas of northern Gaza through the “Amalthea Initiative”, in cooperation with Cyprus and the World Central Kitchen Foundation, and was able to move ships carrying hundreds of tons of food, within the framework of the UAE’s firm commitment to providing relief and addressing the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
As part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, the UAE opened six water desalination plants in the Egyptian city of Rafah, to pump drinking water to the residents of Gaza, with a total capacity of one million and 200 thousand gallons per day, which is pumped to the Strip, benefiting more than 600 thousand people. The success of the process of pumping water into the Strip, in conditions during which the residents of Gaza suffer from a scarcity of clean water, as the water line supplies the shelter centers with their necessary daily needs of drinking water. On October 15, the UAE took the initiative to launch the “Compassion for Gaza” campaign to provide relief to the Palestinian brothers affected by the war in the Gaza Strip, in a sincere expression of the UAE’s approach to solidarity and humanitarian cooperation, in cooperation with the World Food Programme, and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. And the Ministry of Community Development.
On November 18, the first plane carrying 15 children and their families arrived in the UAE, as part of the initiative of His Highness the President of the State to treat a thousand Palestinian children and their families from the Gaza Strip in hospitals in the UAE, to provide all types of medical and health care they need. To them in state hospitals until they recover and return. On the same day, His Highness directed to host a thousand Palestinians suffering from cancer from the Gaza Strip of different age groups, to receive the treatments and all types of health care they need in state hospitals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced in November 2023 the start of the process of introducing the integrated Emirati field hospital into the southern Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, where a specialized Emirati medical team will supervise it, while it began receiving the injured on December 4, 2023 after equipping it with specialized and qualified personnel in the medical fields and branches. Various clinics, in addition to specialized clinics in internal medicine, dentistry, a psychiatric clinic, and family medicine, in addition to CT scan services, a laboratory, a pharmacy, supportive medical services, and departments of general surgery, orthopedics, children and women, anesthesia, and intensive care for children and adults, within a clinical capacity exceeding 150 beds. The Emirati field hospital reflects part of the UAE’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of our Palestinian brothers and support the health system in the Gaza Strip, which faces exceptional, critical circumstances.
