New York Mayor Adams announces conference on rodent control
New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced a national conference of rodent control experts due to the city’s rat problem. The meeting will take place in September, transmits Fox News.
The outcome of the conference should be the implementation of a combination of measures that city residents will have to follow to deal with the pests, Adams said. According to him, the animals have multiplied on the streets because of the garbage in which they find food. The meeting will take place on September 18-19 and will include experts from Boston, New Orleans and Seattle.
Earlier, the New York government announced a new humane way to combat the population of rats and other rodents in the city. As an alternative to poison and glue traps, which is dangerous for other animals, it has been proposed to use contraception for rodents called ContraPest. It affects ovarian function in females and disrupts sperm production in males.
