It is often said that age is just a number. And it is done lightly, almost with disinterest, perhaps without believing it too much. But the story that comes from the New Zeland – more precisely from Scarborough Beach, not far from Christchurch – is the tangible confirmation that this statement is true. Why surfing at 92 (93 next August) is not for everyone, but basically why not? “As long as I can stand up on the table, I will go on.” Words spoken by Nancy Maherne , repeatedly photographed with the table by Julie Chandelier. Shots that have taken the story around the world, after the same woman has lived a life in search of her place between travel, life experiences and hitchhiking.
