On Saturday, the authorities in Singapore warned of floods in large parts of the country following the heavy rains that fell.
The rain caused delays at Changi Airport and at the Live Golf tournament in Sentosa.
The Public Utilities Board, which is responsible for managing and regulating water services, posted a flood alert on the social media platform (X), stating that heavy rains were expected in “several areas of Singapore,” according to the local newspaper, The Straits Times.
Several other flyers were issued to alert the public about the inclement weather.
The council also urged the public to avoid certain roads due to heavy rains, and issued flash flood alerts for several areas.
The Public Utilities Board said in a statement that heavy rain was recorded today, Saturday, in western Singapore. He added that this amount is equivalent to 65% of the average monthly rainfall in the country in May.
