Chapter 5 of “She-Hulk” premiered on Disney + and once again the curiosities have jumped out at everyone’s eyes. This time it was Shrek’s turn, a character with whom the protagonist Jennifer Walters had been compared when she first showed her CGI. Now, a fun scene has made DreamWorks’ green ogre canon in the MCU. How was the inclusion of him in the world of superheroes?
During the fifth episode, Titania and Jennifer go to trial due to conflicts over the She-Hulk brand, something that will determine whether or not the heroine can continue using that name and all that this entails.
“Shrek” is canon at Marvel
When Jenn, in her She-Hulk form, arrives with her lawyer at the courthouse, Titania turns to see her and makes a brief but substantial comment: “Nice suit, Shrek.”
Far from being an outright insult, this brief dialogue reveals that the DreamWorks movie about the green ogre exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making it a movie that possibly all heroes—including the Avengers—could have seen.
Likewise, this is also reminiscent of the memes that appeared on social networks when “She-Hulk” revealed its first official trailer, which was criticized for its unfinished CGI on the face of the green heroine and lawyer.
But this reference is not the only one, last week it was also possible to see that the Supreme Sorcerer Wong was watching “The Sopranos”, one of the best known HBO series.
Will we see more references and inclusions in the MCU? We will have to continue watching the series every Thursday through Disney +.
