The beginning of this special edition of the test due to the recent catastrophe is lived with a memory of the victims of DANA
Several heroes of the DANA have given an emotional starting signal to the Valencia Marathon this Sunday, one of the most participatory sporting events in Spain, with 35,000 athletesand that in this edition it is experienced with special intensity beyond the scope of the competition in memory of those affected by the catastrophe.
With the only sound of the music of the Anthem of the Valencian Community in a minute of silence in memory of the 222 fatalities of the flood (and four still missing) and a Senyera giant as a stage decoration, the runners have witnessed a unique start to the race due to the special circumstances.
Other details of recognition and mourning have been seen in the crepes and the dorsal with color blackaccompanied by the athletes on this occasion in their protagonism on this occasion by volunteers from Civil Protection and agents from the Local and National Police, Civil Guard, as well as military personnel from the UME.
It is also reflected in a list with the 75 municipalities affected by floods and a «Thank you« at the finish line.
