Signs criticize the government’s performance in public security and praise the actions of the governors of SP and GO
A group of police unions and public security agents from Minas Gerais installed billboards in Araxá (MG) and Goiânia (GO) against the governor Romeo Zema (New). The entities criticize the state security policy of the Minas Gerais government and say they are “undervalued”.
Here is what is displayed on the plaques: “Miners don’t want the same for Brazil. Zema never again!”. The message continues: “Minas has a DISgovernment that does not value public safety and increases crime rates in the State”.
Sign the protest Sindpol-MG (Union of Civil Police Employees of the State of Minas Gerais), the Syndepomines (Union of Civil Police Delegates in the State of Minas Gerais), Sindpecri (Union of Criminal Experts of the State of Minas Gerais), APNM (Association of Praça do Interior de Minas) and others.
The plaques feature the governors of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), and from Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), as examples to be followed. “We support governors who value public safety!”it says.
“The objective of such action was to inform the Brazilian population about the truth behind the Zema Government and put pressure on the governor, showing that the public security forces of Minas Gerais will not remain silent”said Sindpol-MG.
SALARY RECOMPOSITION
One of the billboards was displayed in Araxá, the governor’s hometown. The other, in Goiânia, there was a Novo party convention.
Also taking place this Thursday (June 13, 2024) and Friday (June 14) is a demonstration by the category against the PL (bill) 2,309 of 24from the governor, which deals with the general review of state employee salaries.
Unionists are asking for a wage increase of at least 5.79%. However, the amount authorized by the Executive and Legislative powers was 4.62%. The Civil Police mentions a gap of 41.6% in the last 7 years.
“It is not possible to accept that the police ‘fundraise’ to pay for improvements in the scope of work, taking money from their pockets to repair vehicles, buy paper, drinking water, pay for internet, among other situations that occur, in addition to the terrible work structure ”said the president of Sindpol, Wemerson Oliveira.
