The International Another PSOE congress closes, and there are already 41. Pedro Sánchez has been re-elected as general secretary and his proposal for a Federal Executive has obtained the support of 90% of the votes of the militancy. The President of the Government has also taken advantage of his final speech to set tasks for the party, with a view to the municipal and regional elections of 2027 with the aim of recovering the territories with progressive governments.
Furthermore, Sánchez has reflected on the international situation and the advance of the extreme right in Europe and beyond. The revalidated leader of the PSOE has put both the Government and the PSOE, “the Spanish model”, as an international example of the fight against the alliance between the traditional right and the extreme right. It has also placed among the party’s main tasks the improvement of workers’ working conditions, the fight against the climate crisis, the safeguarding of women’s rights and the fight against economic inequality.
