O Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrovsaid this Friday (18) that shipments arriving in Ukraine will be considered targets of attacks.

“We have made it very clear that all shipments arriving in Ukraine and convoys that, in our opinion, carry weapons will be legitimate targets,” the chancellor said in an interview with Russian television channel RT.

The diplomatic chief stressed that the Kremlin’s call for a “special military operation” in Ukraine is aimed precisely at “eliminating any threat” that could affect Russia. In addition, Lavrov pointed out that the objective is to “protect the civilian population” of the Donbas, which, according to the minister, “has suffered attacks for eight years”.

The chancellor assured that, sooner or later, the current situation, which he classified as “anomalous”, between Russia and Ukraine, will come to an end, but added that the West will prevent a rapid normalization of ties between the two countries. “They tried to convert Ukraine into an anti-Russia, using various instruments,” said Lavrov.
