Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Saturday to give money to Ukrainians who leave their country and come to Russia, including pensioners, pregnant women and people with special needs.
The decision, published by a government portal, provides for the payment of monthly pensions of ten thousand rubles ($170) to those who have had to leave the territory of Ukraine since February 18. Persons with special needs are also entitled to the same monthly support, while pregnant women are entitled to 20,000 rubles in case of a one-time birth.
The decision provides for the disbursement of these sums to Ukrainians coming from Donetsk and Luhansk.
Putin had issued an order, a few days ago, to pay people in regions inside Ukraine.
Kyiv said Moscow was giving Russian passports to Ukrainians.
The current crisis has caused millions of Ukrainians to flee their villages and cities. Some of them went to Russia.
