Cristina Ayala (PP) loses the question of confidence, but will continue to govern as a minority because the two opposition groups will not present a motion of censure
The mayor of Burgos, Cristina Ayala (PP), has lost this Thursday the question of trust to which she has submitted after Vox overthrew the budgets last week for her efforts to maintain the suppression of aid of 119,000 euros to the NGO dedicated to the care of immigrants. Their votes have joined those of the PSOE to disapprove of the councilor.
However, the PP will be able to continue governing as a minority and automatically approve the municipal accounts of 2025 unless the two opposition groups agree to present a motion of censure within 30 days, something that both parties have already ruled out.
Shortly after, the councilor, accompanied by the ten PP councilors, announced the appointment of the councilor Juan Manuel Manso as new vice mayor and first deputy mayor and that the government team will be supported by four major areas to “advance the city project.” Accompanied by the ten ‘popular’ councillors, after approving this restructuring at the Local Government Board held this morning.
