No meeting was held in the last two years.

Prime minister Sanna Marin (sd) traveled to Washington on Wednesday to attend a meeting of the Bilderberg Group from Thursday to Saturday. Bilderberg meetings have been held since 1954.

The purpose of the meeting is to be an informal and confidential exchange of views between leading European and North American politicians, journalists, researchers, business representatives and experts.

No meeting was held in the last two years.

The Bilderberg Group meets for the 68th time. The first meeting was held in 1954 in Oosterbeek, the Netherlands, at the Hotel de Bilderberg, after which the group was named.

Marin told of his travel intentions on Instagram on Tuesday, but at the time did not elaborate on the reason for his trip. He told HS earlier Wednesday that the trip would not include a meeting with the president Joe Biden with.

Marin will be in Washington for the rest of the week.

Over the years Several Finns have participated in the Bilderberg Group’s meetings. When the meeting was last held in 2019, the only Finnish representative was the former Governor of the Bank of Finland Erkki Liikanen.
